Remote desktop connection (from LSM 3.5 SP2) - LSM 3.5 SP3 Business + Prof.

From LSM 3.5 SP2, you will be able to manage the forwarded remote desktop ports for each hostname directly from within LSM.

  1. The SmartStick AX cannot be routed via the CommNode-Agent. Forwarding takes place directly via the remote desktop connection.
  1. Open the connection settings of the Remote Desktop session.
  2. Click the button remotedesktop-sitzung verbindungseinstellungen: Optionen einblenden [offen] to show options.
  3. Change to the tab Local resources.
  5. Click the button Remotedesktop Einstellungen lokale: Weitere [offen].
  6. Make sure that the checkbox Ports is activated.
  8. Click on the OK button.
  9. Connect to the remote desktop.
  10. Press the Windows key and R at the same time.
  11. The Run window will open.
  13. Enter a CMD in the input field.
  15. Click on the OK button.
  16. The Command prompt window opens.
  17. Unplug the SmartStick AX from the terminal client.
  18. Enter change port /q.
  20. The command shows the output without connected SmartStick AX.
  21. Reconnect the SmartStick AX to the terminal client.
  22. Enter change port /q.
  24. The second command shows the output with SmartStick AX connected. A new port has been added.
    → In this case, the forwarded COM port 8 is the SmartStick AX.
  25. In the LSM, select the entry Network in the top toolbar Terminal server ports.
  26. The Programming device ports for terminal server window will open.
  28. Enter a hostname Computer in the input field.
  29. Enter the port determined from the Smart Stick AX Port window into the Command prompt input field.
  31. Click the button Save.
  32. A line is created for hostname and port.
  34. If necessary, end the LSM session.
  35. Restart the remote desktop session.
