Creating a communication node - SmartRelay 3 system

  1. LSM launched.
  1. Use Network to select the Communication nodes item.
  2. Enter the communication node name (freely selectable; recommended: VN host or CommNode).
  3. Enter the host name of the computer on which SimonsVoss VNHost Server has been installed.

    You can verify the host name as follows:

    1. Press the Windows key.
    2. Enter cmd.
    3. Press the Enter key to confirm.
    4. The Command window will open.
    5. Enter hostname.
    6. Press the Enter key to confirm.
    1. The computer's host name is displayed.
  5. Enter the full computer name (fully qualified domain name).

  6. NOTE

    notice

    It only needs to be entered if the system is working with LSM clients or database servers in different domains. The FQDN comprises the local computer name and the domain, e.g. COMPUTER.NETWORK.LOCAL. You can verify the domain yourself:

    1. Press the Windows key.
    2. Enter cmd.
    3. Press the Enter key to confirm.
    4. The Command window will open.
    5. Enter echo %userDNSdomain%.
    6. Press the Enter key to confirm.
    1. The computer's domain is displayed.
  7. Click on the Apply button.
  1. The communication node is created.
