Signal strength - RouterNode 3

Signal strength, as with all radio devices, depends on several factors, including:

  • Centre distance
  • Structural conditions (e.g. metal surfaces or reinforced concrete as building material)
  • Other transmitters in the 868 MHz range (e.g. wireless microphones or garage door openers)

Measure the signal strength and quality with the BAMO provided for this purpose (see BAMO documentation).

If you are not satisfied with the operational reliability, you can change the installation location or use an external antenna (see Information on antennas).

APC (adaptive power control)

Your RouterNode 3 will establish a stable connection to the Lock Nodes. Full transmission power is not always required for a stable connection. The is why the RouterNode 3 adapts its transmission power dynamically and reduces it when the Lock Nodes are easily accessible. This reduces energy consumption and interference.
