Offline locking devices - SmartIntego OSS
Offline locking devices are electronic locking devices that are not connected directly to the host system. They belong to the system and can read identification media. During this read process, the identification medium’s authorisations are compared with the data in the offline locking device. Access is granted if they match. If there is no match, the identification medium is declined.
The offline locking device can also read and store certain data from the card. This includes information about lost identification media or the ID of the identification medium itself, used to write an access list.
The offline locking device is also able to write data to the identification medium: for example, the current access or a battery warning from the offline locking device.
