General OSS system structure - SmartIntego OSS

The OSS model essentially represents a virtual network. All identification media (access cards) and locking devices use the OSS model to communicate with one another.

The components in a virtual network are:

• Host system with card updater (also called online reader, gateway, authorisation reader, etc.)
• Configuration Software
• Offline locking devices (reader)
• Identification medium (credential or card)
