Dynamic time slot (time budget/expiry date) - G2 protocols

For an effective use of the virtual network, the gateway needs to be able to transfer data to and from identification media regularly. As a locking system administrator, you can use a dynamic time window to "force" the users of your locking system to scan their identification medium at the gateway on a regular basis.

A dynamic time window limits an identification medium’s validity. Users must regularly top up their time budget at a gateway; if they do not, they cannot use any locking devices (no offline locking devices either) until the time budget has been topped up at a gateway. There are two configuration options for this time budget:

  • Fixed number of hours between one and 255 hours (e.g. authorisation for eight hours after recharging)
  • Fixed expiration time between 01:00 and 00:00 hours (e.g. authorisation between charging time and 20:00 hours)

You configure this time budget universally across all ID media in LSM. However, you can also define an individual time credit for individual transponders. General changes, such as the duration of the time credit, are programmed directly in LSM, but the identification medium concerned itself can also retrieve them at the gateway.
